We are very proud to report that our Managing Director Cliff Dick has beaten the competition to make the official shortlist for the Innovator of the Year Award at the Hull and East Yorkshire People in Business Awards 2019.
Recognising and rewarding both businesses as a whole and their individual employees, the brand-new awards encompass companies from all areas of work, across all industry sectors.
The Innovator of the Year recognises someone who has continuously strived to change, improve and innovate operations. They actively stay ahead of others when it comes to trends, and will also look at a problem and see a solution – embracing change or risks. Cliff is one of just three people shortlisted for the award.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for an award at the Hull and East Yorkshire People in Business Awards, especially in the category for innovation,” says Cliff, who has decades of experience as a Health and Safety Consultant, experience he drew upon when developing his innovative ‘Do-It-Yourself’ Health and Safety software, HiViz Safety.
“I knew I had something new, exciting and useful when I created and developed the idea of HiViz Safety but to be recognised for it in the form of an award nomination is something I never expected. I’m really looking forward to sharing the evening with my family and colleagues and to meeting fellow nominees from all the award categories.”
Founder of the Hull and East Yorkshire People in Business Awards, Jo Fleming, said: “There have been some outstanding entries from businesses of all shapes and sizes, and everyone who entered should be really proud of themselves.
“Narrowing down the shortlist was a difficult task, but we believe that we’ve chosen the best of the best that have the potential to be worthy award winners.
“Supporting talent in the workplace is essential, and the Hull & East Yorkshire People in Business Awards give both individuals and businesses as a whole the chance to gain recognition for their hard work.”
Those shortlisted will now be judged by a panel of high-profile local business people, which have been selected for their wealth of experience in their chosen industry.
Taking place on Friday 12th July at the Doubletree by Hilton, Hull, the Awards has a number of special guests in attendance to enhance the theme of success within business. This includes 2008 Apprentice winner Lee McQueen, who will serve as compere for the evening.
Key note speakers Rob and Paul Forkan will also be present on the night to tell their inspirational story of overcoming adversity after being left orphaned by the 2004 tsunami.
